WHAT IS A.C.T.?

A.C.T. (Aides for Classroom Teachers) is a committee organized by the parents of David Fairchild Elementary. A.C.T. plays a vital role in the academic achievements of our Children.  Our committee is designed to raise funds needed to place Aides in the classrooms for each grade level and to help ensure that all students receive the skills reinforcement necessary for academic success.

Last year, the A.C.T. committee held various successful fundraising activities. Your overwhelming generosity helped A.C.T. raise over $10,000. The monies raised by A.C.T. are utilized to finance staff members that assist in classrooms and in the Reading Lab.

Due to severe budgetary cuts, this year A.C.T. needs to raise $25,000 in order to ensure that the Reading Lab is available for students in all grade levels for the 2014–2015 school year.  The success of our reading lab has been tremendous. In fact our school has been an A school for the past 10 years partly because of the success of the Reading Lab.

The A.C.T. fundraiser for this school year is the Silent Auction held at Family Fun Day.  Our committee generally meets 4 to 5 times during the school year.   If you are interested in becoming a committee member please email dfepta@gmail.com.
